A network exhibition project “Workshop of the artist” will be opened on September 13 in the galleries “Belyaevo” and “Na Kashirke” of Moscow City Galleries Network. This project is dedicated to the 45th anniversary of the Bulldozer exhibition.
The image of the artist’s workshop is considered in the project as a special social and cultural phenomenon of public life in our country in the 60-80’s. A multi-level installation where the personal and the public flips like in an hourglass: closed subject world of the artist is poured into the housing exhibition displays, and underground art in open-air art performances.
The exposition in the gallery “Belyaevo” is a kind of studio zones: archival space dedicated to the Bulldozer exhibition and its participants, Oscar Rabin and the artists of the Lianozovo group, installation of apartment-workshop of Sergei Bordachev, one of the youngest participants of the exhibition in 1974 in a wasteland in Belyaevo, a hall with photographs taken by Raul Skrylev in the workshops of contemporary artists.
The viewer, entering the exhibition space, transformed into one of the characters of a project, in creative object-subject, imperceptibly, he changes its position of observer to active participant, inhabitant of the artist's workshop.
The project will include curatorial tours, art workshops, meetings with artists.
Opening: September 13 at 19:00
